Sadly I missed todays lesson, because I got sick in that morning. Apparently I missed a quite interesting topic, which was presented by Nemo Brigatti and Sonia Tao.

A designer should always aspire to create something innovative, that helps the environment to enhance in particular ways.

Well, but how do we find something that needs an innovative solution? A simple technique would be to just observe the environment and ask ourselves why things are the way they are and why they don't function or look different. Through this we might be able to find better or more simple solutions.

What is innovation for me?

Innovation for me is improving something to simplify and enhance it for the user. It doesn't need to be something completely new and world changing. For instance, moving the «Home» button of an app from the top left corner to the bottom left corner is an innovative notion, since it makes the button more easily reachable for the user.
