In today’s lesson we deconstructed the term Interaction Design and interpreted our understanding of what parts are included or even define Interaction Design, such as we discussed different aspects and perspectives that may not be obvious on the first sight.

The most important keywords I took with me from today which cover Interaction Design the best in my eyes are the following:

HCT (Human-centered Design)

Realizing the needs of the society or a single person and adapting them to a design solution.

Speculative Design

Exploring problems that may not have a big impact at the moment, but still need a solution for the future. The solution kind of needs to be «guessed».

Critical Design

Developing new design concepts that challenge the status quo of an existing design. Speculative Design merges with this term at some point.

Experimental Projects

Interaction Design that doesn’t focus on having an actual use, but interacts with a more artistically manner as for example an interactive light installation.

Included in all terms Interaction Design can be physical but also digital.
